Acids.
I have to admit that I’ve always been a bit scared about using acids.
It sounded terrifying and the kind of product difficult to use: imagine if I put too much of it and burn my skin off? I read a lot about it and finally calmed down.
A few months ago, during my weekly wondering at my local Superdrug, I discovered the new skincare range released by Superdrug: Me+.
Me + is a new range of eight “skincare boosters”; each booster has been designed for a specific purpose.
I have to admit that I was really tempted to pick the eight for them but I have managed (somehow) to be reasonable and pick only two of them, focusing on my main skin issues.
According to the Superdrug website, this Booster “is specially formulated with alpha hydroxy acids derived from sugar cane and citrus fruits. This booster will help to remove dead skin cells, revealing more radiant looking skin. It will also help to improve skins elasticity and leave skin looking clearer and healthier”
I have to admit that the fruit acid booster has been realy helpful to remove some old acne scars that I still had on my face.
I would recommend you to use this one during your night routine, as fruit acids might increase the sun damages to your skin if you go out.
Unfortunately, I didn’t transform my skin into a flawless photoshop picture yet.
I use it 3 times a week, alternately with my second booster.
The Super drug website presents this Booster “will give skin a boost of moisture and helps the appearance of dehydrated skin after 4 weeks of use. Infused with 2% Hyaluronic solution, a highly effective blend of hydrating ingredients which have a unique capacity to bind and retain water molecules leaving skin feeling plumper and firmer. After four weeks of use fine lines appear reduced and skin looks more youthful.”
As you know, one of the joy of combination skin is dry areas lost in the middle of oily skin.
I have used this booster 3 times a week on my dry patches and it has been great to plump up these arreas.
I will definetely add more acids to my routine once I finish these! And you? Have you tried any acids? Which one would you recommend?
Hi! This article is really helpful, I bought the same two bottles today. Do you use them at the same time, one after the other, 3 times a week? Or do you alternative between bottles and days? E.g. hyaluronic acid on Monday, fruit acid on Tuesday, hyaluronic acid on Wednesday, fruit acid on Thursday etc. Thank you!

How do you use it? Do I rinse off the aha booster? It doesn’t say anywhere and I don’t want to use it wrong. Please can you let me know?

Hello Tina! I should use only a few drops and let it set all night long, you should not rinse it off. I hope this helps!
